Pair of mid 18th century (1740s) colored sheets of music illustrated by George Bickham - The Syren of the Stage, showing a male and female pair of figures playing flute and mandolin, and Love's Bacchanal, showing a pair of male figures on an elegant garden veranda. Champagne gilt frame carved with beaded, rope twist and floral details; sage green mat.
"George Bickham the Younger (c. 1706–1771) was an English etcher and engraver, a printseller, and one of the first English caricaturists. He produced didactic publications, political caricatures, and pornographical prints. He was the son of the engraver George Bickham the Elder (1684–1758), who published the Universal Penman (1733–41)." (Source: Wikipedia)
