Large Vintage Embroidered Uzbekistan Suzani Tapestry Wall Hanging Brown and Pink. Very large vintage Turkish Suzani is heavily hand-embroidery with organic brown, pink and yellow colors silk threading. Beautiful Uzbek hand stitched designs with silk in traditional patterns beige, browns and pink. Could be hang on the wall, or used as a bedspread. Overall good condition for its age. Circa 1040s 1950s. Dimensions: 83" x 133" . Vintage embroidered Uzbek Suzani. Beautiful suzani hand-stitched Turkish designs with silk in traditional patterns. The Suzani features two rows of four medallions flowers within an ornate grid, all sitting on a bed of brown color. This amazing embroidery piece could be used as a rug, table or bed cover or upholstery. This ethnic textile Turkish Suzani is a great choice to add a touch of tribal folk design to your modern decor, Moroccan room or any Islamic Moorish maximalist decor. Could be also hang in either way, vertical or horizontal. Condition: there are some pulled threads, some imperfections in the piece should be tolerated due to age of the piece and being handmade. They are mostly large silk and cotton embroideries that are used to to decorate interiors of the houses . Suzanis were also an important part of a girl’s dowry. Each region in Uzbekistan had their own design pool and style. Tashkent ones are far different from the Bukhara ones or Shahr-i Sabz ones. They embroidered them for different utilitarian purposes, as coverlets for the small law tables, as covers for the beddings stacked into the niches during the day.
