About the Item

Beautiful and colorful mid century modern hand woven tapestry with an abstract depiction capturing the light and colors in the American Southwest landscape of mountains and canyons at the sunrise or sunset. The tapestry is very much in the style of the South West, United States landscape such as the Grand Canyon or the Monument Valley. In the 19th and the early 20th centuries, artisans living in Arizona, California, Utah, and New Mexico had created various art including landscape paintings, sculptures, rugs and tapestries that captured colors and scenes in nature and life. The abstract design enables one to display the tapestry either horizontally or vertically depending on the wall space it is displayed on.
