Antique Enamel Pansy Brooch
About the Item
An antique enamel pansy brooch, to the centre a yellow enamelled sphere surrounded by five realistically carved and enamelled petals with a yellow gold back with brooch and foldable pendant fittings, hallmarked Kohn, made in Newark, USA circa 1900, measuring approximately 2.8x3 cm, gross weight 8.2 grams.
This antique brooch is in very good condition. Unmarked tested as 14ct gold.
A pretty antique enamel pansy brooch from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Purple and cream petals tinged with blue hues form a tender surround for the egg yolk yellow enamel sitting at the centre of the flower. This lovely piece was made in New Jersey, home to America’s most highly accomplished jewellery makers at that time.
