Antique Victorian Mourning Brooch, 9k Yellow Gold, Hairwork

About the Item

A sweet and unusual antique Victorian 9kt gold mourning brooch or pin. A small sized brooch with a rectangular 9kt yellow gold frame and back, the front with a glazed panel, enclosing a finely plaited lock of golden blonde hair. It has simple clean lines and has an almost modern feel to it, a far cry from many Victorian mourning pieces, this one is subtle but prominent. It has an old C type clasp and pin fastener and an attached gold plated safety chain which is a replacement. Marked on the reverse 9ct, late Victorian era c1890s. Condition: Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age. Approx measurements: 0.75" width 0.53" height Weighs approx 4.06 grams Any questions or queries please contact us.
