Austrian Art Deco Sterling Silver and Marcasite Initials ES Brooch
About the Item
Beautiful Austrian sterling silver brooch decorated with marcasites and silver squares, and featuring the initials ES. Measuring length 3.6cm / 1.4 inches by width 1.9cm / .75 inch, and depth 3.5mm / .14 inch. The hoopoe bird Austrian hallmark (see photo 8) means that the brooch is 935 silver and was assayed in Vienna. The brooch is in very good condition, with scratching as expected, and a bend to the pin. The clasp works well.
This is an unusual and stylish Art Deco initial brooch, the marcasites really sparkle.
