Elegant 14K Gold Ruby and Seed Pearl Crescent Floral Brooch with Fleur-de-Lis In

About the Item

Elegant 14K Gold Ruby and Seed Pearl Crescent Floral Brooch with Fleur-de-Lis Inlaid Design This exquisite brooch probably dates back to circa 1900 or later and is a testament to craftsmanship. Crafted in solid 14K yellow gold, the brooch weighs 5.4g and has a diameter of 27mm. The intricate design features a crescent moon in a floral arrangement, inlaid with a fleur-de-lis design, adorned with a round ruby at its center, surrounded by fifty-eight seed pearls ranging from 1.1 to 2.15mm. The floral motif is enhanced with fleur-de-lis inlaid designs, creating a delicate and alluring aesthetic. The center ruby, a round cut weighing 0.50 carats, is complemented by the 58 seed pearls that craft the crescent moon and fleur-de-lis. Meticulously maintained, the brooch is flawless, retaining its original pin and C clasp at the back, and sits elegantly in an associated box. The creamy-white seed pearls display excellent luster, elevating the piece. • Important Exquisite Rare Antique Hardstone Gold & Enamel Cameo Brooch
    Located in London, GB
A high-quality gold hardstone cameo (Circa 1860) depicting a classical roman lady, probably a deity or Bacchante. The detail is magnificent, with intricately hand-carved hardstone coupled with fine gold wirework and beading. The blue and white ornate enamel decorative oval frame sets this Cameo apart from any we have ever seen. A truly stunning piece! Hardstone cameos are the epitome of cameo art, and their monetary value reflects this. The use of hardstones dates back to ancient Rome. Artisans in the late 18th century produced pieces with noble and powerful subjects, reflecting the revival of the art of classical Greece and Rome. By the time Queen Victoria ascended the throne in 1837, Cameos were characterized by romanticism and femininity and a revival of subjects from classical mythology. The passion for ancient history fuelled by archaeological discoveries and written accounts of the exploits of ancient civilizations made this period ripe for revivals of ancient jewellery styles. Many Cameos were carved in the neo-classical style popular in the late 1700s and early 1800s when taste in the arts echoed the subject matter and style of the Greek and Roman masters. Neo-classical Cameos...

  • Rare 18ct Ruby and Diamond Pocket Watch with Elaborate Mountings and Jewels
    Located in London, GB
While the origin of this particularly unique piece remains a mystery, the brilliance and fine craftsmanship are without question. This small 18ct jewellery pocket watch houses elaborate, decorative silver mounting and bezels. There are 6 rubies at the front and 6 old European cut diamonds at the back. The outside of this one-of-a-kind piece is adorned with blue enamel and a colourful floral decoration ringed with gold-plated leaf. The interior uses a gold-plated dial of roman numerals to tell time with excellent balance and a total weight of 36 g. Our experts date this piece to the early 1970s. The tradition of carrying around a pocket watch has been popular since at least the 14th century. It has continued well into our current era as a mark of a true gentleman. It wasn’t until after World War I that wristwatches came into fashion. Each watch has a unique design and style that speak to the craft house that produced the timepiece. There are two pocket watch styles in wide use: open-face and hinged. This piece is hinged with a protective shell equally adorned with the interior face. This piece is meant for more formal attire and most likely would not be worn on a daily occasion due to the exquisite jewellery contents. ------------------------------ Condition Report: Pristine condition with a diameter of 4 cm ------------------------------ ------------------------------ Provenance: From a private collection. ------------------------------ ------------------------------ Literature: Cf.:Barry S...
