Exceptional Edwardian Paste Corsage Ornament
About the Item
Exceptional Edwardian Corsage Ornament set in silver with pastes. Lovely design with central motif held by 3 sets of paste and faux pearl set swag chains, hanging off sword hilt motifs.
This piece was originally designed to be worn in the bosom of a gown, as an accent jewel for enhancing the bust.
Wearable today at the neck under a crisp white shirt, in the hair, or across an open area as a pendant (shown in sweater images).
A wonderful example of a period jewel which can be easily contemporized for todays use, while maintaining the beauty of its antique manufacture.
The sword hilts hide 2 pins (like stickpins) which will hold the piece in the fabric. High quality manufacture in silver mounts. France 1870. Excellent condition.
