Schiaparelli Haute Couture Pagan Goddess Lapel Brooch

About the Item

Schiaparelli's Pagan Goddess Lapel Brooch from Fall 1938, called "A Pagan Collection" . This example of wearable surrealism was part of Elsa Schiaparelli's Autumn 1938 collection which used Nature's themes of blossoms, leaves and insects. Of hand carved wood with glass enamel apple blossoms, leaves and crystals set in fine gilt metal. 2.5" x 1 5/8" Another example is see in: Luxe et Fantasie : Bijoux de la Collection Barbara Berger.
