Limoges France White Enamel and Pate de Verre Link Necklace
About the Item
An exquisite enamel and pate de verre link necklace designed in Limoges, France. Enameled domed trapeze copper elements are linked together with gilt metal framing to a turbogas or serpentine chain. This popular 1950s and 1960s technique named "cookies" was used in Limoges to create jewelry. Copper pieces were silver-foiled or gild-foiled, decorated with clear enamel, and topped with colored fused glass, creating fabulous colors with an intense glow.
Assorted white, emerald green, pink salmon, and gold colors over silver foil background. Barrel screw closing clasp. No visible signature.
Measurements: Necklace total length is 18.32 in. long (46.5 cm) x 0.94 in. wide (2.4 cm) - Front 5 pieces is 5.69 in. wide (14.5 cm) x 0.94 in. high (2.4 cm).
