Rachel Gera artisan handmade modernist sterling silver choker necklace from the 1970s. Rachel Gera was born in Tel Aviv Israel in 1936, and educated at Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy of Art. She recently passed away. Her jewelry is bold & modern, her style unmistakable & statement making, you need nothing more than a simple black dress as a backdrop for one of her amazing pieces!
This sterling silver choker necklace is
made in 3 sections a curved front piece with 2 hinged side pieces, closing at the back with a wide hook & bar closure. There are irregular thin silver bars throughout, set within the silver frame, these bars are covered with assorted smooth raised organic shaped silver pieces which are hollow at the back. Marked Gera, partial 925 mark, partial sterling mark.
