Faux Semi Precious Stone Resin Necklace, 1980's
About the Item
1980's chunky resin bead necklace with the appearance of semi-precious stones accented with gold tone metal fittings and dimpled beads. Some of the 'stones' are carved with an Asian motif and the smaller beads at the back of the necklace have the appearance of faux jade. The color combination is sublime with shades of green, pink, orange and purple. There is no closure though the generous length allows for easy wear. No hallmark present but the necklace was acquired from the estate of a fashionable lady who had an Yves Saint Laurent boutique in Atlanta from the 1970's - 1980's and had a fabulous collection of costume jewelry. Please note, the Fred Perlberg gold lame dress in photograph 13 and the Dynasty evening coat in photograph 14 are both available on the Modern & Moore home page in separate listings.
CONDITION
Very good condition. The underlining nylon string is visible at the knotting on the back of the necklace, as shown in photograph 11.
MEASUREMENTS
The necklace measures 35" from end to end providing for a 17.5" drop. The resin beads vary in size with the smallest 'jade' beads at the back measuring .25" diameter and the largest 'white jade' bead measuring 1.5" diameter.
