Vintage Signed Monet Etruscan Floral Necklace, 1939
About the Item
Rare goldtone and copper plated floral necklace with fold over clasp. Marked "Monét." Another variation of this necklace was featured in a 1939 advertisement. Measures: 6 inches long by 5 3/8 inches wide. Center; 1 3/8 inches long. Condition: Very good for its age, some surface wear.
Early Monet jewelry was produced in the United States and was not mass produced. During the 1960s and 1970s there was more demand than supply, because the company believed in quality over quantity. Monet's jewelry was of such a high caliber that during the 1980s they produced haute couture jewelry for Yves Saint Laurent. Jewelry featured in Monet advertisements are highly collectable.
