Antique Dutch 14 Karat and Red Coral Filigree Pendant
About the Item
An antique Dutch 14 karat and red coral filigree pendant. The pendant is made from a lock of the traditional Dutch costume worn around 1900 in a province called Zeeland. The pendant is made with filigree technique. Filigree is a very refined technique that uses a thin golden thread to form a lace-like pattern or even fine embroidery. The pendant features a leaf shape with fine geometrical and abstract wirework and it is finished with five tassels at the bottom with red coral (Corallium Rubrum*) beads. The item was acid tested for the gold content (the gold hallmarks are illegible). The pendant will be sold without a chain presented in the pictures above.
* Corallium Rubrum is not on the CITES list and it does not require the CITES permit, except for Australia that prohibits import of any type of coral.
