Ico & the Bird & Turquoise Mountain Myanmar Tusked Elephant 18k Necklace

About the Item

In collaboration with The Turquoise Mountain Myanmar Jewellery Project, Ico & the Bird has created a series of good luck charms and pendants based on the seven days of the week. Conceived by the Monks of Ancient Burma and called the ‘Mahabote’ (Little Keys),these figures decorate the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and are said to hold the keys to one's fortunes. The Elephant with Tusks represents those born on Wednesday morning. If this is you, Mercury is your ruling planet and south is your lucky direction. The Elephant with tusks is independent and likes to be in charge. Elephants frequently take on more than they can handle. ✢ 18k Matte Yellow Gold ✢ 18mm wide ✢18" Chain The cable chain is 18 inches long in 14k. 18k and 22k cable chain is also available at an additional cost. In collaboration with Turquoise Mountain, the Morning Elephant Pendant is hand-made in Myanmar by artisans trained in ancient goldsmithing techniques. Using Burmese gold, known worldwide for its rich color, each piece is ethically produced and helps promote sustainable livelihoods for the artists from Ramree Island, in the Rakhine State of Myanmar.
