THIS IS A SUPERB PAIR OF BERGMAN AUSTRIAN VIENNA BRONZE PARAKEET BIRDS IN BLUE AND YELLOW GREEN PLUMAGE.
This wonderful pair of antique Austrian Vienna Bronzes (Bronze de Vienne, Wiener Bronze, Cold Painted Bronze) is so charming with its yellow-green and blue parakeet birds. The bronzes are of the highest quality of Vienna Bronzes with superb modeling and expression and with the mark of the Bergman foundry of the B in an urn.
The bronzes depict the most wonderful pair of parakeets in perky adorable poses looking over the neighborhood! The expressions on the birds faces are so full of life and the details on the feathers is exquisite. The bronzes are hand painted in the cold painted bronze technique.
The bronzes are 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches and 2 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches.
The bronzes have the Bergman hallmark of a B in an urn.
The bronzes are solid.

- 'The Four Seasons' Figures in Gilt Silver & MalachiteLocated in Brisbane City, QLDThis charming set of 'The Four Seasons' dates to the late 1960s and was manufactured in Milan, Italy. The set which retain their original fitted box comprise of a small square plinth encased with slices of malachite atop of which sit a figure, each representing one of the four 'seasons'. The figures along with a gilt foot-rim are crafted from 800 purity silver (800 out of 1000 parts pure silver) and are parcel gilt in areas and purposefully oxidised in others. The figures to the underside are stamped for their metal purity, along with an Italian hallmark allowing us to know they were crafted in Italy by a maker called 'Luigi Cervone'. This particular mark for Cervone was only used from 1968 up until his retirement in 1970, allowing us to date the set to between 1968 and 1970. The four are in exceptionally good condition, retain their box and appear to have been virtually never displayed. The quality of the malachite slices...Category

Likely the work of the German lapidary carvers in Idar Oberstein (or possibly Russian in origin). The feet of the hippo have numbered inscription or signature. Simply a great carving!
