Carrier Manager

We are seeking a Carrier Manager to focus on scaling the complex Logistics network within our fast-paced business environment. In this role, you will need to effectively operate and deliver an outstanding experience for customers and dealers around the world.

This role may be for you if: you have a background in white glove service, truckload, intermodal, LTL, sea freight and small parcel logistics, with demonstrated operations management skills.

You are as comfortable working on high-level strategy and design, as you are rolling up their sleeves and working on implementation. You have demonstrated the ability to build customized logistics solutions, drive process improvement, standardize procedures and eliminate the root cause of defects within current systems. You are a strong communicator, and also possess the ability to work independently in a high-pressure, and often ambiguous work environment.

 

What you’ll do

  • Seek and on-board new strategic carrier partners as well as manage our current carrier portfolio, which includes contract creation/modification, and negotiation of terms
  • Design and implement metrics decks to drive performance improvement with our partner carriers. Completion of root cause analysis on all defects and using data to drive continuous improvement activities
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to provide visibility of transportation flows. Identify and communicate risk, and develop risk mitigation solutions
  • Contribute strategic insights on network design and improvements. Assist in driving enhancements to the network and processes
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive overall network performance

What you’ll bring

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years in logistics, carrier management or transportation operations
    • Ability to manage, drive and prioritize projects, while leading cross-functional teams and stakeholders
    • Incredible interpersonal and relationship-building skills
    • Leadership ability: We’re looking for a hands-on analyst and team player who can inspire and mentor fellow 1stdibbers
    • Passion and drive for customer service
    • Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication, and influence
    • Commitment to following-up until the job is done
    • Strong quantitative and problem solving skills: You can analyze large sets of data, pull out insights and then proactively communicate those insights to senior leaders
    • You can grasp complex issues and look beyond the obvious
    • Self-motivated and proactive
