Director, Supply

1stdibs is a two-sided marketplace connecting sellers and buyers and we are seeking an experienced Director of Supply - to focus on our Supply side of our marketplace. You will build and run the supply planning and support the overall strategy and optimization of 1stdibs’ high-end design categories: Furniture, Fine Art, Jewelry and Fashion. Your work will focus on driving seller success to meet the growing demand from our buyers. 

In this highly visible and newly created role, you will need to have exceptional quantitative, communication and project management skills, keen attention to detail, and eagerness to make an impact. Your work will provide our leadership team with insights on category and seller performance, and enable us to identify opportunities for optimizing growth.

You will be a great team player who is always ready to collaborate and build with key partners. you will be a structured communicator who can package results into digestible and actionable messages.

What you’ll do

  • You will create and answer key business questions shedding light on product and partner performances
  • You will drive and lead deep dive analysis to answer business challenges and key stakeholders questions
  • Analyzing the current supply status and help turn it into actionable insights, maximizing and optimizing the sustainable growth of the company
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, and assess pricing and inventory competitiveness
  • Create seller segmentation and design appropriate pricing schemes and platform offerings based on those segmentations
  • Develop category optimization strategy to increase supply sell through
  • Work cross functionally with Product, Account Management, Business Development and Business operations to consider the practical challenges of our industry and platform
  • Assess our current KPIs which measure sellers’ success and sellers’ behavior and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Lead discrete strategy projects for new and existing verticals

What you’ll bring

  • BA/BS Degree in a quantitative field
  • 8-10+ years experience in Supply/inventory planning or quantitative, strategic business planning role
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills, Salesforce and Looker a plus
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to convey key information from a large set of data
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across levels and functions
  • Strategic thinker with an emphasis on operational and commercial excellence
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; highly self-directed and results-oriented
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and scoping work focus
  • An understanding of luxury and/or marketplaces is a big plus
