We’re looking to add to our People team by bringing on a People and Talent Specialist to join our UK Team. Our People team is an integral function within 1stdibs and we want to hire an all-star to help us scale across multiple departments.

The Specialist will be a People generalist, responsible for core human resources functions and talent acquisition. The Specialist will be responsible for onboarding, employee relations, and connectivity within our UK office. S/he will also work alongside company leadership to define hiring needs, develop and implement recruiting strategies, and successfully close the best candidates in the industry.  As the People representative in our UK office, the Specialist will also ensure alignment of core processes with the home office.

 

What you’ll do

  • Ensure new hires are successfully onboarded into their new roles; coordinate orientation and training, and complete and file new hire paperwork and legal documentation
  • Manage payroll with our external partner by ensuring timecards are submitted and processing all employee changes, including terminations
  • Manage employee benefits scheme, including health insurance, gym memberships, and the 1stdibs pension scheme
  • Provide support and guidance to the management teams on employee relations issues
  • Lead efforts to build employee connectivity, including periodic social events, lunch & learn sessions, etc.
  • Partner with 1stdibs managers to develop and execute strategies to identify and source appropriate talent for their teams
  • Apply a variety of innovative sourcing techniques including social media, networking, activating referrals, and direct sourcing
  • Track all search metrics and provide weekly updates to hiring managers and the broader recruiting team

 

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years of HR/recruiting experience in a fast-paced organization at an ad tech, digital, or e-commerce company.  We are in hyper-growth mode, and things change quickly.  Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity are essential.
  • Track record of success in recruiting and HR. We’re looking for someone who is goal-driven with a proven ability to fill roles from various business units as well as a solid HR generalist
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.  Conveys information in a clear and concise manner; asks appropriate probing questions; diplomatic in the face of resistance and objections
  • Innovative and a self-starter.  Constantly seeking ways to build relationships and improve processes, and then taking action to make it happen
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter and Applicant Tracking Systems; preferably Greenhouse
  • Highest recruitment standards, including an incredible candidate experience and a strong partnership with hiring managers
  • University degree or equivalent experience a plus; CIPD Level 3 or 5 strongly preferred
