Cramer, who owned this work. Hand signed inscribed and dated 'JOAN COLLINS VISITS GEMINI! EK 85.59'; signed and inscribed by Joan Collins 'Love Joan Collins' (on the reverse) Acquired from the collection of Douglas S. Cramer, the renowned Hollywood producer who acquired it directly from Ellsworth Kelly; Joan Collins signed the work for Ellsworth Kelly. From May 6–June 25, 2022, the Matthew Marks gallery put on an exhibition of Kelly’s postcards which were also the subject of a 2021 exhibition at the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. Perhaps more than any other work by the artist, Kelly’s postcards illustrate his use of found compositions — from nature, architecture, art history, and popular media — to create his singular, abstract forms.
