ARTUR MARKOWICZ 1872-1934 Podgórze (Poland) 1872-1934 Cracow (Polish) Title: Sketchbook I, 1915 Technique: A Sketchbooks with 154 Pencil and Colour Pencil Drawings on Paper with Stamp Size: 16.5 x 20.5 cm. / 6.5 x 8.1 in. Additional Information: This is an original sketchbook by the artist Artur Markowicz. It was realised in 1915 in Vienna and contain numerous pencil and colour drawings depicting Jewish life in Poland and in Austria (Vienna) in 1910's. The sketchbook has eighty-two pages. Each page is stamped with the collection stamp "A.Marcowicz. Ex coll Mr K". The outside cover of this sketchbooks is stamped with the above collection stamp and inscribed in pencil "1915 I". Provenance: The Estate of the artist. The collection of Mr Kahat, Hod Hasaron, Israel. Condition: Good condition. Some foxing throughout and some tears on a few pages.
