Meticulously rendered account of three prospectors trying to rustle up some water before they can dig up some gold. Magazine Illustration of the Old West, American West, Cowboys Casein on board, Western / Frontier Art Illustrator of the social realism school, best known for his Saturday Evening Post covers. He named Grant Wood and Edward Hopper as the greatest influences on his painting.

    The surface condition is good. Colors are clear, crisp, defined and punchy. There is some discoloration to the board, Scattered areas of light ochre decoloration perhaps water intrusion extends across the board. Support board has some uneveness.
