André Pierard
Barcelona Street Scene, Watercolour on Paper.

1970

About the Item

1970's Barcelona street scene watercolour on paper by Belgian artist André Pierard, signed and dated bottom right. André Pierard had a second home near Cotignac in Provence in the south of France and would spend his summers there during the 1970's setting up his easel and painting provencal inspired scenes. His work was quite extensive and eclectic as he produced landscapes, portraits and abstracts. Highly colourful and vibrant these original works make a great impact. On this occasion Pierard travelled further south to Barcelona from his Cotignac base and was taken with the street scenes he encountered in the city and its surrounding areas. He has captured the insensity of the Mediterranean light beautifully.
