Provenence: Estate of the Artist Ink and graphite on paper. Housed in a custom frame with all archival materials. Outer dimensions are 23 x 39.75 x 1.5 inches; image measures 13 x 29 inches. About the Artist: Born in Palisade, Colorado, Fletcher Martin was given instruction in printmaking as a child. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, commencing in 1922.. Martin earned a living as a printmaker until the mid 1930s. During the second World War, he served as an artist war correspondent for Life Magazine, covering the African campaign in 1943 and Normandie in 1944. His first Exhibit was held at Dalzell Hatfield Galleries in 1933. Martin's first museum one-man show at San Diego Fine Arts Gallery in 1934.
