Wilhelm GIMMI Zurich, 1886 - Chextres, 1965 Pencil drawing 18 x 25.5 cm Signed lower in dropite "Gimmi"
Gimmi studied at the Küssnacht Normal School and at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich. He went to Paris in the 1900s and studied at the Académie Julian between 1908 and 1910. He then worked with Jean Arp, Walter Helbig and Oscar Lüthy ( the Moderne Bund movement). He lived in Paris between 1911 and 1940 and was a member of the Salon d'Automne from 1920.
