Mary Reilly
Field of Flowers 2, photorealist graphite floral drawing, 2016

2016

About the Item

Reilly uses a toning technique to endow her graphite works with a smooth, seamless quality. Rather than distinct outlines, her flower petals glide gracefully into the surrounding space. It is this sense of delicacy, coupled with precision of her gradient, that captures the flower's texture in this hyperrealist drawing. New York native Mary Reilly studied art at SUNY Purchase, the School of Visual Arts, the Art Students League of New York, and the National Academy School of Fine Arts. After a career as a graphic designer, she began pursuing her career as an artist full time and studied with artists Frederick Brosen and Sharon Sprung. She currently lives and works in Manhattan. Framed: 14 x 11 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches Signature: signed verso: Mary Reilly 2016 Provenance: Artist to GarveySimon, New York, NY Exhibitions: 2016 48th Annual Collectors Show, Arkansas Arts Center, Little Rock, AR
