Untitled (Roi David)
Located in Palo Alto, CA
Marc Chagall Untitled (Roi David), 1954 is a rare and imaginative culmination of the collaboration between Marc Chagall and the Fucina degli Angeli. This work is from the beginning of Chagall’s usage of Murano glass as a means of expression. In 1954, Chagall was invited into the Fucina degli Angeli by Egidio Costantini who was the master glass blower at the time. This stunning and mesmeric sculpture beckons the eyes through the use of vivid, bold colors that blend seamlessly together. Blue, purple, teal and hints of red coalesce in the center of the glass plate, creating the backdrop for a whimsical scene placed in the foreground. A man in a crown kneels in the center of the work, preoccupied with the string instrument delicately constructed in his hands. Gilded flecks of gold are highlighted around the crown and instrument, showing us the depth of the lyrical poet. The transparent glass allows us to follow suite of the man, becoming entranced and lost in thought. Created in 1954 in the Fucina degli Angeli in Venice, Italy, this Murano glass sculpture was realized by master glass artist Egidio Costantini (Brindisi, 1912- Venice, 1998) in collaboration Marc Chagall, (Vitebsk, 1887 – Saint-Paul, 1985). This work is inscribed ‘M. Chagall E. Costantini 1954 © Fucina degli Angeli’ on verso and is an artist proof. Catalogue Raisonné: Marc Chagall Untitled (Roi David), 1954 is fully documented and referenced in the below catalogue raisonnés and texts (copies will be enclosed as added documentation with the invoices that will accompany the sale of the work). Perspective in Orange
Located in Grosse Pointe Park, MI
"Perspective in Orange" is a profound exploration of life's journey and the dynamic nature of perspective. Crafted from steel, then painted, this Constructivist style maquette (model) offers a visually striking representation of the transformative power of shifting viewpoints. The geometric lines that define the sculpture play a central role in conveying its message. As viewers encircle the work, they experience a fascinating interplay of disappearing and reappearing lines, shapes and forms. This clever use of perspective mirrors...

Blue heart vase signed by Per Lütken for Holmegaard Glass Company 1950s
Located in Milwaukee, WI
Presented here is a original blue heart vase signed by the Danish master of glass Per Lütken. It is an excellent example of Lütken's work, having the curvature, weight and thickness that makes his glass design so desirable. 3.75 x 5.5 x 3.5 inches Inscribed 'Holmegaard' with monogram PL between 1959 date on base Overall good condition; some minor scratches Per Lütken (1916-1998) was the unsurpassed master of Danish glass design and one of Holmegaard’s most advanced glass designers. He worked at the Holmegaard Glass Factory from 1942 until his death in 1998 and has breathed life into more than 3,000 glass designs. Many of his ranges have become classics and are synonymous with the quality that Holmegaard is famous for. Per Lütken was the Holmegaard Glass Factory’s great inspiring figure. He was known for his perfectionism and made great demands on the glass blowers. If they complained that his designs were too difficult to blow in glass, Lütken’s ambitious response was always, “Well, who said things were supposed to be easy?" In Per Lütken’s opinion, glass should have a certain natural weight, and they should ooze craftsmanship. Based on this philosophy, he designed thick glass works with soft curves. [via Holmegaard Glass] Holmegaard Glass Factory is a glass company located in the former municipality of Holmegaard just outside Næstved. The home of Holmegaard Glassworks is located in the town of Fensmark, Holmegaard. The company was founded in 1823 after Count Christian Danneskjold-Samsøe petitioned the Danish king for permission to build a glassworks at Holmegaard Mose ("Holmegaard Bog"). He died before permission was granted. But after his death when permission was finally received his widow, Countess Henriette Danneskjold-Samsøe pursued the project and began production in 1825 of green bottles, moving on to table-glass within its first decade. Much of its early work was derivative and inconsequential, but between the 1930s and 1980s its fortunes were transformed by the designs of Jacob E. Bang (1899-1965), Per Lütken (1916-98), and Bang's son, Michael (1944-2002). Today the company is known for its high-quality products of Danish design. Danish glassmaker Per Lütken worked at Holmegaard from 1942 until his death in 1998, creating some of the factory's finest pieces and all-time classics, such as the "Idelle" series, the "Ships...
