A sophisticated, dreamlike view of two distant landscapes, framed and bordered in abstraction. Candice says she developed a unique acrylic/encaustic technique for this work, as seen in the white area. The red area also represents experimentation with acrylic paint. The surfaces are irregular and a bit glossy on the white area. "This painting is named "Lessons" because sometimes when an obstacle appears looming in the background, it helps to change one's perspective," says Candice.

Patrick O'Boyle primarily paints in a studio, rarely using reference material other than his own thoughts and dreams. He always paints in a series of five - at the end of the fifth painting he revisits and reworks all of them until he feels they're complete.
