Robert Yasuda Aloha, 2022 Acrylic on fabric on wood 48 x 32 inches RY111 Robert Yasuda is known for luminous multi-panel paintings on carved wood that transmit and transform light. Notable installations include large, site-specific paintings at MoMA PS1 in an exhibition organized by Alanna Heiss in 2016. The exhibition, titled Forty, was a collection of work by artists who were key participants in the 1970s alternative art spaces movement and the early years of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. During the 1970s, Yasuda’s work was showcased at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; the Clocktower Gallery, New York; and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. Gerald Wolfe received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Maryland in 1972, discovered his interest in art and went on to study fine arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In the summer of 1974, he also studied at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. From his first show in 1979, a summer invitational at OK Harris Gallery, Gerald has shown his work on a consistent basis in New York, including such galleries as Denise Bibro Fine Art, NYC, and Kim Foster Gallery, NYC . Born in Tallahasee Fl, William started his artistic career as a color consultant for his family's Design and Painting company that took on constant projects of custom painted interiors and decorating. This work of 20 yrs lead him to his fascination with textiles and paint, along with custom furniture. After creating and selling dozens of unique pieces of furniture, here began his transition from wall, to wood on furniture, to canvas. Painting on canvas was the culmination of his creative outlet.
