Sascha Mallon’s stoneware tea set, “After the Rain” features a hand-painted underglaze of soaring ravens and swallows on the central teapot. Each of the accompanying teacups (nestled on cashmere crocheted doilies) depict a different bird: a hummingbird, a raven, a blue tit and a cardinal. Sascha Mallon’s sculptural set relates to her narrative storytelling style and creates a conversation amongst the birds. The total set includes 5 hand-sculpted pieces: the central teapot and four teacups with saucers and crocheted doilies. This highly detailed Miniature Room of a Retired Whaling Captain's Study in Nantucket is an excellent example of the true talent of Eugene Kupjack. Tiny scrimshaw and knick-knacks fill the shelves while the perfectly proportioned furniture adorns the center of the room.
