“Carhop” is a colored pencil and watercolor wash on Strathmore archival fine art paper by the American artist, Joe Chierchio. Signed lower right. Done in 2016. Original artwork. Overall, professionally matted and framed with white mat and 1.25 inch wide white satin frame 27.5 by 37 inches.
Joe Chierchio studied art at the School Of Art And Design, Pratt Institute
and The School of Visual Arts. He began his career as an Art Director,
working at Grey Advertising, Bates Worldwide, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Young &
Rubicam. Joe has won his share of awards for art direction ‘’ Andy ‘’ ‘’
Gold Effie ‘’ and ‘’ Art Direction Magazine ‘’ to name a few.
He has taught art direction at the School Of Visual Arts, and has lectured
at colleges and corporations in New York City and New Jersey. After a
successful career as an Art Director, Joe made a transition into Fine Art.
Sculpting in stone became his passion. His award winnings sculptures and
have been shown in galleries in New York City, The Hamptons on Long Island
and Italy.
Joe Chierchio has done 24 covers to date for Dan's Paper.

Nahum Tschacbasov Biography : Russian-American artist Nahum Tschacbasov (1899-1984) is known for his cubo-surrealistic works which feature a strong psychological element. Some of his work bears a resemblance to work of another Russian-American artist--David Burliuk. He was somewhat of a late starter, moving to Paris in 1932 to study under Adolph Gottlieb, Marcel Gromaire and Fernand Leger. He had his first exhibition in Paris in 1934. He then returned to the US where he joined Rothko and Gottlieb at the Galery Seccession. He was one of the co-founders of The Ten, a group of social conscious abstract painters which included Rothko, Gottlieb, Joseph Solman and Ilya Bolotowsky, among others. In 1944, he began to work at Stanley Hayter's Atelier 17, a center for surrealistic ideas. Between 1936 and 1943, he had five one-man exhibitions at the ACA Galleries and participated in five group shows. He also exhibited at the Whitney, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Knox Albright Museum, the Chicago Institute of Fine Art and Corcoran, among others. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the Met, the Whitney, the Brooklyn Museum and the Jewish Museum. Provenance: A Pennsylvania estate. Lloyd Raymond Ney was an American non-objective artist. Known as Bill Ney, he was born in Friedenburg, Pennsylvania March 8th, 1893, the son of William W. Ney and Sadie Maidenford. He studied at the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. In 1918 he won a Cresson Fellowship to study in Europe. In the 1920's Ney traveled to France where he studied and painted in Paris among the vital European modernist community. He lived at the Hotel de Versailles, 60 Boulevard Montparnasse. During this period Ney created his major work, "The Drinkers," Later, the artist wrote extensively about the process of developing this work and the transforming experience of integrating the Modernist ideal he had witnessed in Paris. After returning to the United States, Ney settled in New Hope, PA, an established art community between New York and Philadelphia. Unlike more New Hope artists who followed impressionism in the early 20th century, Ney embraced a more expressive contemporary style including non-objective works.
