This piece has previously been on loan so we are delighted now to be able to offer it. Lydia Bauman has been commissioned by many big organisations and is collected by both organisations and private collectors here in the UK and world wide. Lydia's love of art started from an early age. she has been exhibiting since 1985. Lydia Bauman is a landscape painter, whose interest lies not in narrative, but in form defined by light. She is inspired by motifs as contrasting as the cultivated landscapes of the Mediterranean and the deserts of north Africa and Australia. Her images, of scale ranging from 12″ x 12″ to 60″ x 60″, work both on a figurative and abstract level, with the surface of the panels characterised by varied marks and textures achieved by a complex mixed media technique combining plaster, resin, wax, sand, acrylic texture gels and pigments. This was developed in her search for visual equivalents of the particular character of each landscape – to evoke the genius loci of each place. This wonderful landscape image is one that Lydia arguably does best. She evokes Spring by the clever use of a multitude of greens, light green, pea green, moss green, sage and olive green, perhaps even a British racing green in this Moroccan landscape with brown rectangular fields washed over with a blue green all neatly compartmentalised into a black grid like landscape. This piece transports you to another land and culture making, allowing you a snapshot of a far away place with exquisite breathtaking views for miles only interrupted by fun white, hot air ballooned shaped like clouds. A wonderful collectable piece for a first time buyer to an avid art enthusiast who just wants to add this perfect piece to an extensive collection.
