About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s “What’s behind door #3?” is a 24 x 18 inch abstract mixed media collage on pearlescent paper with pink, bright blue, yellow, cream, and black. Elements include oak, maple, and gingko leaves covered in acrylic paint, fragments from monotypes, a mylar paper swatch, an aged textbook page, and a mimeographed document once belonging to the artist's late father. The work has been sprayed with a matte sealant to help preserve the leaves. The leaves were used as stencils making monotypes. The signature is below the image.
