About the Item
"Worlds" is a two panel piece, a diptych, with intricate sewn medallions of fabric and textiles. The work is multi-layered with impasto texture, acrylic layers intermixed with house paint. The juxtaposition of color against the tumultuous, marbled background of grey, white and black give the work a "pop" and is eye catching. This piece is intriguing with the many textures the artists giver her viewer, it is tempting to reach out and touch and serves as an excellent conversation starter. Blalack is skilled in creating contemporary artworks that pull her audience in with the different mediums, but doesn't overdo it or complicate the piece too much. This is a stand alone work, but can certainly hold it's own along side high-end works of art. Blalack typically works on large canvases, but frequently switches to diptychs experiment with certain styles.
