About

While Larsen is well known for his sculptural wall-based paintings, Perfect Misfits is part of a new body of work in which he works two-dimensionally.

In Perfect Misfits, Larsen continues to use his signature technique and practice by using previously discarded materials such as salvaged steel and reclaimed cardboard to collage the work together.

Expanding on what the “ready-made” can be, Larsen’s color palette is derived from the original color of the material, awarding recognition to the past life of the surface material, prior to its reincarnation as an art object.

Primary colors in Perfect Misfits include hues of taupe, green, red, orange, blue, white, black and yellow. Constructivist, Bauhaus, abstract geometric, contemporary and cubist influenced piece.
