The Tune Squad brings it up the court in this fantastic hand-painted limited edition production cel inspired by the film Space Jam, signed by none other than Michael Jordan himself. This incredible piece featuring the multi-faceted sports superstar, is truly a lost treasure, as it was exclusively sold at the Warner Brothers Studio Store in 1997, and has since been sold out for over 20 years! This unbelievably rare limited edition comes with a Warner Brothers seal and certificate of authenticity. Additionally, the cel is Upper Deck-certified with holographic seals on the cel and certificate. The terrific shading in the cel painting is very rare and really gives dimension to the piece a jaw-dropping find to say the least! ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Hand-painted limited edition cels showcase legendary characters and recreate classic moments from great cartoons, using the same materials and techniques as were used in making the originals. Cel painting is a time-honored, and extremely exacting process requiring that each color be individually applied by hand. It told the story of the Looney Tunes gang as they pull Michael Jordan out of his retirement from basketball to help them win a basketball game to save them from slavery at an alien theme park. A unique premise to say the least, Space Jam had mass appeal for basketball and Looney Tunes fans alike. There is even a highly anticipated sequel to be released in 2021. It is also worth noting that Michael Jordan has been recently brought back to the limelight in the new Netflix documentary series The Last Dance, which recounts his last season with the Chicago Bulls.
