KAWS The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum (June 27, 2010 to January 2, 2011, Ridgefield, CT): Rare original program to KAWS' first solo exhibition. Staple-bound museum program; approximately 10-15 pages featuring photos & text highlighting the evolution of the artist. Offset printed; 6.5 x 10.5 inches (folded closed). Very good overall condition. Scarce. About KAWS: “KAWS” are a graffiti artist, illustrator, painter, sculptor, product designer and toymaker. His cartoonish style, including his best-known characters with X-ed out eyes has its roots in his early career as a street artist, when he began replacing advertisements with his own, masterful acrylic paintings in the early, 1990s. Since, Kaws has embraced the commercialist spirit of Claes Oldenburg and Takashi Murakami, designing everything from Kanye West album covers to NIKE sneakers...

Shepard Fairey Screen-prints: collection of 60 works: 2009-2022: A rare assemblage of 60 hand-signed Shepard Fairey screen-prints; collected over a near 15 year period (2009-2022). Notable imagery includes: Bob Marley, Keith Haring, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Kurt Cobain, as well as a series of vivid anti-war pieces defining the artist's practice (title list found further below). Each very well-preserved. Medium: Screen-prints on heavy paper. 2009-2022 (see below for a list of titles & years). Dimensions ranging from: 19.5 x 16 inches to 24x36 inches. Each work is hand-signed; works are either numbered from their respective main editions or notated 'AP' (see last listing image); a few or several works are signed, but not numbered. Although the exact location is unclear, both agree that it would have been at either Fashion Moda or the Writers’ Bench at 149th Street and Grand Concourse. Founded by Stefan Eins in 1978, Fashion Moda began as a “cultural concept” whose principles revolved around the fact that art can be made by anyone, anywhere and art should be accessible to anyone, anywhere. Located in the South Bronx, Fashion Moda embraced new talent and encouraged creative production across all mediums. The gallery has been credited as a major force behind the recognition of graffiti writing as an art form and it played a pivotal role in a community where Hip Hop was rapidly emerging. In 1984, Eric Orr and Keith Haring joined forces to create a series of chalk drawings in the NYC subways. As their work evolved, the artists shifted their focus from the subway to the studio and embarked on the production of a suite of drawings. Included in the group was Repeat which had made its first appearance in the 23rd Street IRT uptown station. Little did Orr and Haring know that the reimagined drawing would be auctioned at Christie’s six years later. 2020 heralds a new beginning for Repeat, a truly unique silkscreen print that both illustrates and celebrates a fierce friendship that began in the early 1980s at The Roxy roller rink in NYC, when two young artists decided to trade t-shirts on the dance floor.
