He began painting in 1991, in 1993 he attended Ignacio Otero's drawing and airbrushing workshops. His training in Abstract Expressionism continued in the workshops of Marco Otero, and in Essentialism with Heriberto Zorrilla and Helena Distéfano. By 2012, Franco deepened his technique with Sergio Bazán and later perfected it in the clinics of Fabiana Barreda and María Carolina Baulo, who was the curator of one of his last exhibitions, Harena. In 2021 he studied at the Cazadores Clinic, together with Florencia Qualina and Sergio Bazán, always striving to enrich his technique, he is currently participating in a clinic with Leila Tschopp. Franco has participated in numerous exhibitions between 2011 and 2017: at The Redchurch Gallery in Shoreditch, London in 2012-2013; Stupid Perfection at the Borges Cultural Center in 2013; Buenos Aires Design in 2015; Honorable Senate of the Argentine Nation and in the Recoleta Cultural Center of Buenos Aires, also in 2015; and the Open Studio in San Isidro in 2016. In 2017, Harena was exhibited at the Central Newbery Gallery and at the Esteban Lisa Foundation. In 2021, Franco participated in the virtual exhibition of Latin American Artists at Otto by Artsy Gallery. In 2022 the collective show at Clínica Cazadores with Sergio Bazán and Florencia Qualina, and The Art Design Project Gallery Opening I COLLECTIVE SHOW I Miami, USA. Additionally, Franco had an individual show Color is Not in Things, curated by Gabriel Palumbo at Otto Gallery, Bs As, 2022. Alec Franco is also the founder and Senior Editor of Hoornik Collection Art Magazine since 2015.
