A bright and colorful pop art painting from the 1960s by Bob Stanley. Bob Stanley was an influential American Pop Artist, born in Yonkers, New York in 1932. Stanley studied art in New York City at the Art Students League and the Brooklyn Museum Art School, where he developed his unique and distinctive style. Stanley showed his work at prestigious galleries, including Bianchini Gallery in New York City, and at the New York Cultural Center. His works are held in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Milwaukee Art Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Fogg Museum at Harvard, and The Chrysler Museum. This work was created in 1965 and is liquitex on stretched canvas. It is signed and dated verso. Titled 'Ray Berry Catches Unitas Pass – Alexander & Mertens Defend’.
