About the Item
"Influence 8" is a 22 x 30 inch acrylic painting on paper in red-violet, blue and teal. A layer of coppery dots form an iridescent surface that changes dramatically with the light and the position of the viewer. Nets and branching forms overlap, intersect and float across the painting forming a meditation on connection, exponential growth and our ever-shifting spheres of influence. "Influence 8" extends to the rough deckle edges of heavy handmade watercolor paper and is signed on the reverse. This painting is float mounted in a white wooden frame measuring 27 x 35 inches.
Denise Driscoll’s paintings are expansive accumulations of mark, line and form in energetic color. Her painting process is meticulous and meditative, generating unplanned compositions that emerge as each added layer obscures and illuminates what lies below. Her work invites extended gazing.
