Barefoot in the Garden is an original abstract expressionist painting by contemporary emerging artist Diane Whalley. Painted in acrylic with oil pastel and mark making details sometimes revealing glimpses of the layers beneath.
It is a light an airy piece inspired by kicking one’s shoes off in the garden and enjoying the grass underfoot and feeling liberated with the desire to twirl across the lawn, the air swirling with you, smelling the pollen drifting by and listening to the bird song. The clouds are drifting over head with the blue sky and sun occasionally peeping through. It is a dreamy artwork full of reflection and inspiration from a garden by the sea.
