About the Item

S'en Aller - 01 (Abstract painting) Acrylic and ink on canvas - Unframed This artwork is exclusive to IdeelArt. Guillaume Moschini is a French abstract artist mentored by the internationally recognized Supports/Surfaces artists Claude Viallat, Patrick Saytour, and Vincent Bioules. Much like Helen Frankenthaler, Moschini’s work depends on process: unprimed, raw canvas, a diluted pigment (mixed inks, acrylics, and paint thinners), and the unconscious phenomenon that occurs through the process of art making. In his organized studio, he constructs compositions of color, transparent tints, overlays and shapes. Liquid pigments melt into the raw canvas with precarious intention. Meditation on the proper tools, balance of color, form and the flow of material is his strategy. Moschini’s palette is reinvented per series, sometimes vibrant and sometimes muted. Conceptually, Moschini’s work echoes Kenneth Noland’s minimalism without the restraint of flatness. His transparency variations within the color field and transparent overlays reinvent a contemporary and unique approach. Moschini reflects on a time in the history of painting that questioned its definition.

  • "Set Us In Stone II" (abstract, pink, women, Parisian, graphic, bust, natural)
    By Nicholas Evans

SET US IN STONE II 2022 Paris, France Originally created as part of Nicholas' solo exhibition "This, and Thereafter (Plumes)," December 10, 2022 - January 7, 2023. The theme illustrated the enigmatic uncertainty around what might happen after life. A range of paintings were presented – vibrant and ethereal – touching on different aspects of this notion. Each painting had a different point of view, oftentimes focusing around the inevitability of what is to come, and if and how it influences the present. This particular piece centers around personal legacy, how you will be remembered, and how your life vanishes into an abstraction as time goes by. This notion is visualized with a bust set in stone. The technique Evans used was a mixing of water-based ink with a hint of pink, that he knew would react when overlaid with white acrylic, pulling out a lighter hue of the pink ink. The white silhouette of a portrait set in stone creates a ghostly continuation of the underlaid pattern. Option to create a pair alongside "Set Us In Stone I" (as pictured). Price and size are per painting. Evans Deventer...

TIME, IT TAKES I 2022 Paris, France A graphic and bold abstract painting on linen, with dark blue green ink and white acrylic accents. A single, bold, orange line is situated on the left side of the painting, a commentary on markers of time as an ineffective unit of measurement. Time interpreted not as linear, but an experience outside of numbers and outside of logic. Option to create a pair alongside "Time, It Takes II" (as pictured). Price and size are per painting. • "Lus Osculi" (Abstract Black & White, Graphic Painting, Roman-inspired, Neutral)
    By Nicholas Evans
    Located in Paris, IDF
Drawing inspiration from the ancient Roman term "Los Osculi," translating to "right to kiss," the artist delves into a compelling exploration of the past's intriguing customs. In ancient Rome, women were prohibited from drinking as it was believed to lead to adultery and even possess abortifacient properties. Consequently, the husband and male family members of an "honest" woman possessed the right to kiss her on the mouth to ensure her sobriety. The allure of fleeting kisses, whispers of scent, and the sensuality of suspicion captivated the artist's imagination. On an antique French canvas...
