Heidi HyblRed and Blue Modern Abstract 1988
1988
About the Item
Red and blue abstract by Carmel, California artist Heidi Hybl (American, 20th Century). Rendered in bold tones of red, black, and blue, this piece has a brutalist architectural feel. The grid pattern in the upper portion creates a sense of repetition that is broken up by patches of red. Below, a more simplistic layout creates a solid foundation for the work, punctuated by a single black and red shape.
Signed "HYBL" and dated "1988" lower left.
Presented in a black metal frame.
Image size: 19"H x 15"W.
Heidi Hybl’s abstract landscapes are inspired by the colors and shapes of California’s Central Coast. Living in Big Sur, the artist observes the ever-changing atmospheric conditions that arise when hills, canyons, and ocean meet. Heidi is passionate about being outdoors so as to absorb the visual, auditory, and tactile offerings of the coast. She then reduces these elements to an abstract experience on canvas in a color palette derived from her surroundings: sunsets and storms, fire and fog. Heidil’s artistic process consists of blending colors in seamless transition, where changes in color represent horizon lines or forms in the landscape. Oil paint is Heidi’s medium of choice.
