Artist Comments
Artist Igor Dukic adopts style influences from Hilma af Klint in this abstract piece. He depicts an abstract modernist painting based on his mystical experience. On canvas, atoms dance in the ecstasy of love. Frenzied spiraling lines adorn the surface of fluid structures.
About the Artist
Yugoslavian-born artist Igor Dukic produces abstract geometric compositions with sleek line-work and solid colors. After many years of working as a graphic designer, he felt the need to express himself through painting and illustration. “Making art is a spiritual practice, I create from a place of no mind, from inner stillness,†says Igor. His process includes digital sketching in full color, then using a projector to recreate it on canvas. Igor holds a BFA in communication design. Art has always been a part of his life as his mother is a fine artist as well. In most of his paintings, they often collaborate. His way of life encompasses meditating, chanting, and mindfulness. Today, he works from his home studio in Minneapolis.

- Oyster Bay, Abstract PaintingBy Alicia DunnLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Artist Alicia Dunn displays a dreamy seascape of the Northern California coast. The essence of serenity emanates in the relaxed panorama. Alicia captures the chill in the crisp sea air. Relaxing hues of blue flow along the canvas in soft and velvety brushwork.About the Artist
Alicia Dunn’s abstract paintings are affected by a confluence of elements: the weather, her mood, and the properties of her materials. “Ceding control to these things allows the magic to happen,†the artist explains. Alicia's paintings capture the unique energy of nature, particularly that of the beach where she lives. Staring into the tranquil and luminous colors of her work, the viewer connects to shape of the waves, the swiftness of the wind, and the beginning of a day. Alicia is inspired by the simple things in life. Her awe of nature’s perfection and the thrill of constant discovery are conveyed in her art. Alicia works in water-based acrylic paint, and has developed a technique using blending gels to achieve not only rich color and texture, but also an eroded, weathered effect that reflects the process of the painting’s creation. Like nature itself, each painting shifts with the viewer, chronicling time through movement and beauty.Words that describe this painting: seascape, abstract, sky, clouds, coast, California, ocean, sea, water, movement, waves, calm, tranquil, acrylicpaint, abstract, seascape, acrylic painting, blue

$11,400 - Urban Abstraction (ripped off posters) Italian Expressionist Painting on CanvasBy Andrea SpinelliLocated in Firenze, ITThe present work of art titled "Urban Abstraction (ripped off posters)" is part of a series of paintings that the artist composed in the 1980s and 1990s inspired by the observation of the urban reality of those years. The artist take the cue from his walks in Florence, both in the center and in the suburbs, and by the observation of billboards and posters scattered throughout the city. The mass of information, colors, messages and words were carried on the canvas with acrylic colors, ideally reconstructing the tears and overlaps of all the information and advertising contained on these huge sheets of paper that invade our cities. The geometric lines are overlaid with jagged lines, overlaps and color dripping and also the choice in the color palette, with different shades of white, gray, rose, orange red and blue helps in rendering the result of the tears and ripped paper. The result is a beautiful multicolored modern abstract canvas, both aesthetically and ethically, with many rich layers of color, texture and expression in which the artist leaves his own message. The painting is housed in a simple modern white lacquer wood frame. Andrea Spinelli...Category
