About the Item
A shock of saturated orange dominates the canvas in this dramatic mixed media composition from Ivo Stoyanov. Thickly applied visible brush strokes add texture and the white background with black markings offer contrast. Stoyanov is known for his use of bold imagery inspired by nature but re-interpreted in abstract form.
“My paintings are meditative work, inspired by the fragility and beauty of natural forms and attempt to reclaim the experience of outdoors in my Toronto studio.” Ivo Stoyanov
He received a Masters degree in Mural Painting from the Fine Arts Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria (1990) and he has been commissioned to create major mural projects in the US, Bulgaria and Canada. His work is found in collections around the world.
