About the Item
Katherine Borkowski-Byrne’s “Notes to Myself” is a painterly abstract oil painting on canvas 60 x 48 x 1.5 inches with spontaneous brushwork in saturated oranges, blues, reds and purples on a white background. This painting was inspired by thinking about painting as a visual language and this as a page of visual notes to delight the eyes. “Notes to Myself” is unframed with sides painted white and the signature on the reverse.
Katherine paints while listening to opera and translates the many layered-music into many-layered paintings. She is influenced by the art of the New York School of Abstract Expressionism with it’s focus on being in the moment and the use of fortunate accidents and experimental techniques. Borkowski-Byrne is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
