About the Item

Artist Comments
In this acrylic pouring artwork, artist Linda McCord explores how light and emotion emerge from darkness. Layered paint creates depth through transparent color, allowing light to appear from within. The darkness becomes a source of insight rather than emptiness. The piece balances structure and spontaneity, inviting reflection and calm. It is part of her ongoing series titled What the Darkness Reveals.

About the Artist
Artist Linda McCord works with most two-dimensional mediums and creates fluid art using transparent layers. Embracing both a methodical and flexible approach, she delves into the scientific aspects of the process, incorporating mathematical concepts rather than emotions. "Composition and color schemes are my primary focus," says Linda. She managed her own gallery for a decade while also imparting her knowledge of painting and printmaking in college classes. Linda's dedication and self-taught journey have led to numerous awards for her work. She diligently spends eight hours a day, five days to six a week, in her spacious and paint-covered studio next to her home. In her spare time, Linda enjoys crafting Nuno felt hats, searching for reference materials, and marketing her creations.
