Marit Geraldine Bostad
Marit Geraldine Bostad is an abstract colorist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in art direction in Oslo in 1997. She works and lives in Horten in Vestfold County, Norway, and her studio is at an old naval base, where she finds most of her work inspiration — in the middle of great nature and historical buildings.
Bostad's paintings carry an emotionally charged impetus. Describing her practice as a kind of therapy and a way to switch off her mind, her feelings about her work are highlighted by their lasting impression on the viewer. Her abstract paintings are influenced by memories and people, whose essence she intuitively attempts to preserve on the canvas. Richly colored and textured, incorporating layer upon layer of acrylic paint, the canvases are imbued with a fresh, youthful approach, positivity and invigorating color palette.

- "STATIC" Abstract Acrylic Painting 72" x 72" by DOTLocated in Culver City, CA"STATIC" Abstract Acrylic Painting 72" x 72" by DOT ABOUT THE ARTIST: By compiling concepts from multiple philosophies, DOT’s Art seeks to explore an idea that has developed from different roots. Through the use of repeating geometric patterns enhanced by different color theories. A hallucinatory visual field is created. Thus forcing the viewer's perspective to be pushed into a moment of visual confusion. According to theories in Neuroplasticity, these perspective shifts are catalysts that have the potential to rewire neural pathways and ultimately affect thinking and behavior. Being self-taught DOT leaned into his understanding of scientific concepts and techniques to develop his artistic explorations. In his most recent body of work, a surgical repetition of shifting color fields reflects his curiosities in the space of visual perception. These lines tend to create a static movement...Category

- Extension - large, bright, colourful, geometric abstract acrylic on canvasBy Milly RistvedtLocated in Bloomfield, ONIn this dynamic new work by Milly Ritsvedt, bold vertical bands of pure colour run the length of the painting. As always, Ristvedt’s choice of colours in this hard-edged piece is masterful—turquoise, deep pink, blue and bright yellow. Art Critic Barry Lord (Art in America) declared that Ristvedt’s paintings were ‘more insistent than Bush, more consciously structured than Molinari.’ “The paintings of the past two or three years explore questions of form, colour and process that arise out of earlier works.” Milly Ristvedt Born in British Columbia, Ristvedt studied at the Vancouver School of Art (now the Emily Carr University) and had her first solo exhibit at the Carmen Lamanna Gallery in Toronto. In the late 1960s, Ristvedt shared a studio with famed Canadian painter Jack Bush, met art critic Clement Greenberg and was inspired by American painters Jules Olitiski...Category
