"Untitled III" by American artist Ronald Ahlstrom is an abstract mixed media on board created sometime in the '80's. The artwork was created using a variety of materials including oil, twine and corrugated cardboard.
An adept and sensitive painter, Ahlstrom's most personal work is as an abstract expressionist collage maker. Using strips of paper, sometimes weathered and beaten into rough hewn surfaces, he creates immaculately layered, lively, gestural compositions. Ahlstrom exhibited his artwork nationally, including shows at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, among others.
The artwork is presented in a thin, black floater frame.
