Contemporary abstract painting on metal with yellow and earthtone hues by Selina Rodriguez (American, b. 1981), 2013. Signed "Rodriguez" upper right. Image, 20"H x 39"L x 3"D.
Selina Rodriguez is an American artist born in Chadron, Nebraska. She later moved to Wyoming with her family at a young age, where she discovered her passion for art. Rodriguez studied at the University of Arizona, graduating with two Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees and an Associates of Fine Arts degree. She went on to study Art History in Italy. While studying in Italy, Rodriguez came to understand the art world and the different styles and movements associated it.
Selina is inspired by Richard Diebenkorn whom she admires for his great understanding of color composition; Lucian Freud who she adores for his commitment to ensure that every art piece he creates offers depth and content; and Egon Schiele for his use of beautiful and high quality lines in his artwork.
